If you’re a dog-lover, particularly with regard to the Jack Russell breed, then perhaps you know about parson John (“Jack”) Russell (1975-1883), vicar of Swimbridge parish for 48 years and an obsessive huntsman who, at the age of 79, after staying at Ivybridge hunting for the entire week, rode seventy miles to Tordown the following day!
