Austins ongoing development of their Newton Abbot department store has…
Devon has many great independent businesses, and in this instance, we take a look at an excellent ladies fashion shop based in Sidmouth, namely Chapter, which is run by Yvonne Price.
One area of concern for any retail business, is the ability to bring in custom, because retail high street type businesses are rooted to the spot. Obviously, one source of business is passing trade, seeing an attractive window display, equally, word of mouth can work well, but ultimately, if you have a niche product/service, then you are able to ‘work’ a much wider area through paper based marketing. Devonshire magazine has been delighted to be able to help Yvonne market her business across Devon – here’s what Yvonne had to say about Devonshire magazine:
“I am really happy with the advertising I do with the Devonshire magazine. I advertised in it all last year and definitely benefited as a result. People were coming into the shop who had read the advertisement and until then had not visited us before. We also always keep a copy of the magazine in the shop for people to enjoy. I’ve spent a lot of money with Devon Life, Exeter Living and other glossies in the past, without getting any noticeable response, but since going into the magazine, I’ve been getting regular feedback from new customers throughout the year, who’ve seen my advert.”
