Artist – Alan Cotton

SWAcAlan Cotton is one of Britain’s most distinguished painters and is represented internationally by Messum’s Fine Art in Cork Street, London. He has work in the Royal Collections and in public Collections worldwide. The University of Exeter awarded him an Honorary Doctorate (D.Litt) for his outstanding contribution to the Arts’ and in September 2011 he was appointed Hon. Professor for the Arts at the University of Bath. He is President Emeritus and a founding member of the South West Academy. Alan has accompanied his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales as Tour Artist to Sri Lanka, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. He travelled as Expedition Artist to Mount Everest with explorer David Hempleman-Adams in 2011 and in September this year, just before his London Exhibition, they were in the Alps, on the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.  In 2015, the University of Bath is staging a Retrospective Exhibition of his work, in July and August. It will then travel to the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery in Exeter in September and October.
