As a book illustrator for many years, the ‘storytelling’ picture…
Michael was born in Surrey in 1943 and lived and worked there until relocating to Lyme Regis with his wife in 1999.
Having drawn and painted images confidently from an early age, he was accepted into Farnham School of Art at thirteen, initially continuing his schooling alongside an increasingly intense art course, tutored by many well-respected artists of the day.
He went on to work in London in advertising and publishing and by the 1970’s had become an independent illustrator and fine artist producing a vast range of work for multi-national companies including cruise liners, product packaging, farming and the motor industry.
Michael exhibits mainly in Devon and Dorset now and has developed a large following with his atmospheric watercolours and textured acrylics of the landscape and the sea. Alongside this his Steam Railway paintings have long been acclaimed and Aviation works have won him top awards in London.
