Award success for Devon artist Sarah Bee

Devon artist Sarah Bee wins the Marine House at Beer “People’s Prize” at the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts Open Exhibition in Exeter.

Over 1700 people visited this impressive exhibition. Visitors were asked to select their favourite work from a list of short-listed paintings.

Totnes based artist Sarah Bee emerged the clear winner with her evocative imagery of Haldon Hill Woods. She received her £250 prize at a small ceremony at Marine House at Beer.

Her prize winning painting and other works by Sarah can be viewed at the gallery and on our web site.

Mike Lambert, Gallery owner says, “Sarah’s work delves into the heart of the natural world. Gnarly trunks, brooding skies, sea expanse and the scratchiness of undergrowth are stock in trade for Sarah and transport the viewer away from the hurly burly of modern life.”
