If you haven’t visited the Loddiswell area, then I can strongly recommend a trip to one of South Devon’s most beautiful areas.

The pretty river Avon* winds its way down the valley in what I’d say is some of the most pristine countryside in South Devon.  Several years ago we compiled a walk from Loddiswell village, across meadows and along the river which you can see here: Loddiswell Walk

You can also visit Blackdown Rings Iron Age hill fort occupying a commanding position (free access), allowing expansive views across miles of open countryside, although if you take your dog, they need keeping on the lead as sheep roam freely.

(*Avon – an ancient word for river)
